Callaway Golf Named The First Tee of Orange County Pro-Am Golf Tournament Title Sponsor

Professional purse grows to $12,000 as industry leader teams with local nonprofit to raise funds and provide young people with life skills

Online PR News – 24-June-2015 – Anaheim, CA – The First Tee of Orange County (TFTOC), a nonprofit committed to providing youth with translatable life skills through the game of golf, has proudly announced Callaway Golf Company as title sponsor of its third annual pro-am golf tournament. The 2015 event, to be held August 31, at Coto de Caza Golf and Racquet Club, includes professional and amateur golfers in a tournament that raises critical funds to enable young people to succeed on and off the golf course.

The involvement of Callaway Golf as title sponsor will raise even greater awareness of the nonprofit’s mission, thus benefitting TFTOC programs and services. Callaway’s participation also helps secure the tournament’s $12,000 purse – to be competed for by 44 professional golfers across both 18-hole layouts at Coto de Caza, one of the finest golf facilities in the West.

“Having Callaway Golf on board as title sponsor for this year’s pro-am tournament is exactly the type of partnership our chapter was seeking,” said Gail Krause, executive director of TFTOC. “Callaway Golf is a highly visible and well-respected golf industry heavy-hitter, and the generous support we are receiving from this corporation greatly impacts our chapter and our participants.”

Beyond its substantial success as a golf innovator, Callaway Golf is known for numerous philanthropic contributions around the country, primarily through Callaway Golf Foundation, the company’s nonprofit arm, which has donated more than $13 million to charity. The company maintains an ongoing commitment to building great communities and making a positive difference in the lives of many, including avid golfers and those having never touched a club.

“We are so proud to support an event that raises critical funds for The First Tee, which is such an admirable organization nationally,” said Greg Brown, VP of US Sales at Callaway Golf. “When we were approached to get involved with the Orange County chapter, it seemed like a no-brainer, and we are looking forward to a great tournament, a great turnout and helping advance the mission of a great organization.”

With Callaway Golf occupying the title sponsorship slot, other sponsorship packages for the tournament are still available from $350 to $10,000. Individual player fee is $400. Dinner tickets are $100. For questions regarding event sponsorship, contact Gail Krause at or call 714-833-8221.
