Akshaya Patra reaches meals to earthquake hit areas of Nepal

The Akshaya Patra Foundation has served its first meal to the earthquake devastated people in Kathmandu Nepal on 19th June 2015.

Online PR News – 22-June-2015 – Kolkata, West Bengal – Bangalore based The Akshaya Patra Foundation has served its first meal to the earthquake devastated people living in the makeshift plastic sheet tent camps at Kathmandu Nepal on 19th June 2015. To start the program initially one block was selected and 1100 people were served freshly cooked hygienic meals. As requests for more meals are pouring in from all parts the Akshaya Patra has plans to scale up the supply to 20,000 meals per day within this week. There is great misery and suffering of the people post the devastating Nepal earthquake.

Ravindra Chamaria, Chairman, Infinity Group and Vice Chairman on the Advisory Board of The Akshaya Patra Foundation said, that the team consists of 33 members out of which 16 people are from contractor and maintenance crew and rest from The Akshaya Patra Foundation . Ahuja Engineers have constructed PEB style structure in four days measuring about 2500sq.ft. working almost 22 hrs a day. All Akshaya Patra employees who have volunteered have put their heart and soul in this cause.
