Always Best Care Vice President of Operations Elizabeth Brennen presented “We Are the Brand” at the Conference, discussing “The ABC Way,” several unique factors that distinguish Always Best Care as an industry leader and critical areas of operational focus for future growth and success.

Ms. Brennen recently joined Always Best Care and is leading a nationwide team of the company’s Area Representatives with a focus on operational excellence and efficiency. Prior to joining Always Best Care, Ms. Brennen served as Regional Corporate Manager Almost Family, responsible for the states of Florida, Kentucky and Connecticut from 2011 through 2014. She had previously served as Vice President of Operations for Recovery Home Care, and in various capacities for the Visiting Nurse Association of Florida.

“You are our biggest competitive advantage in today’s highly saturated home health care industry,” Ms. Brennan told the franchisees and area representatives. • Continuing focus on operational excellence – “The ABC Way” -- is critical for future growth and success. We must: be disciplined and make methodical decisions driven by a strategy and plan rather than reacting; we must leverage the strength and stability we have based on our size, densification, and strong financial performance; we must execute more efficiently and effectively and drive deliverable quality care and look to do more, better with the same or less resources; we must become a strong sales organization; we must stay unified under the Always Best Care brand; we must engage together as a team and build a represented front; we must all take ownership for our actions and results and hold ourselves accountable.

• Area operations support continues to be an Always Best Care differentiator. Ms. Brennen noted that in 2015 she will be working in partnership with the Area Representatives to provide support in the following key areas: increasing the number of franchisees in the region to provide strength in numbers; HR/recruitment and workforce development; financial management; measuring, reporting and reacting to key business indicators to understand the region’s business and profitability growth; internal processes and systems that promote consistency and efficiencies throughout the system; and effective internal communications.

• A sharp focus on metrics – operational performance and measurable outcomes -- is key. Ms. Brennan highlighted how this metrics focus will help Always Best Care identify best practices, true market share growth and help better navigate downward trends. As part of this she unveiled a new uniform P&L system, noting that “the P&L is the lifeline of any business – the roadmap to the health of your organization” -- and that “without a margin, there is no mission.” She also introduced a 2015 Business Goal Tracking Plan for franchisees, noting that “a plan is not an option” and that it would serve as the metrics hub.
