Denver based Bombay Bowl, Inc., an Indian fast casual restaurant, announces the rebranding launch of a fresh new concept, Taja Indian.

The decision to rebrand and retire the Bombay Bowl elephant mascot evolved from over five years of industry research and compiling customer feedback and requests. With the recent boom of the fast casual industry, the market has become saturated with options and competition. Fast casual customers have a large variety of restaurants to choose from and have come to expect a more elevated dining experience. However, price and fast casual speed is still a factor in the frequency of visits.

Indian food and cultural influence is on the rise in America, but still have a way to go until the mass market is familiar. Bombay Bowl, Inc. was the pioneer of fast casual Indian food and is constantly researching ways to improve and make the cuisine more approachable and simplified for the American market. The original Bombay Bowl concept was a casual eatery featuring a front line where customers would build their own assembly style bowl.

“The constant challenge for us with the Bombay Bowl model was that since Indian food is an unfamiliar cuisine, many customers were unintentionally or intentionally combining ingredients together that resulted in entrees that were a far departure from the way we intended the food to taste,” explains founder and chef Amar Singh. “Indian food is complex and delicious with very delicate flavors. Without being familiar with the cuisine, customers were adding too many incompatible ingredients together. This works for many cuisines, but not for an authentic Indian meal.”

To meet the demands of the fast casual customer as well as answer to the challenges of being an ethnic restaurant, Bombay Bowl, Inc. evolved and decided to rebrand as Taja Indian.

Taja Indian offers customers a fine casual dining experience. Customers can choose from a variety of flavorful entrees from the menu. The food is then made fresh to order using premium quality ingredients. Entrees are served with pure proteins such as hormone and antibiotic-free locally sourced chicken, hormone & antibiotic-free grass-fed lamb, and certified organic non-GMO tofu. The rice is also premium quality non-GMO white basmati or brown rice.

“We evolved to Taja Indian to offer a more elevated experience for our customers. We make authentic fresh to order Indian food with a farm to table approach – serving food the way we intended it to taste,” says Singh. “ Customers can relax in our modern dining room as we make their meal for less than $10 and in under 10 minutes.”

Bombay Bowl, Inc. remains the parent company, but Taja Indian will be the face of the brand going forward. Taja Indian currently has two locations in the Denver area, has plans to expand rapidly, and is working on introducing a franchise program.
