Online PR News – 24-May-2015 – Tamarindo, Santa Cruz – Tamarindo,Costa Rica (May 14, 2015) – Panacea de la Montana, a Costa Rica yoga retreat on the North Pacific coast of the Guanacaste Peninsula, offers a 200-hour Yoga Alliance-Certified Hatha Yoga Teacher Training program. A small group of only twelve participants will gain new skills and knowledge to improve their practices in a span of 23 days, from August 6-28, 2015. The program costs a total of $4500 including $2200 for tuition fee, $2300 for accommodations inclusive of 24 nights of lodging and meals, except for Saturday night dinners, and a $500 deposit for registration.
As per the requirements of the Yoga Alliance, the training should cover five educational categories: (1) techniques, training and practice, (2) teaching methodology, (3) anatomy and physiology, (4) yoga philosophy, lifestyle and ethics for yoga teachers, and (5) practicum. During the training, the participants will learn how to use verbal cueing, demonstration and adjustments to lead students into poses. Proper use of props, modifying poses and class sequencing will also be covered. Daily practice of different yoga styles like asana, pranayama, mantras, meditation, bandhas, mudras and kriyas is required as well.
There will also be discussions on basic history and philosophy of yoga, including the Hatha Yoga Pradipika and the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. Participants will also be studying anatomy, physiology, physical alignment, and energetic alignment, as well as how these concepts are applied to the practice of yoga.
The teaching program will be led by Mary Byerly, a Yoga Alliance-Certified Instructor with more than twenty years of experience in teaching various styles of yoga. Her teaching is based on classical traditions of Hatha Yoga which incorporates knowledge of anatomy. Using the traditional foundations of yoga, she helps students develop their own authentic style of teaching.
For the duration of training, participants will be staying at separate cabinas with a view of the countryside and the Pacific Ocean. Part of the training is eating healthy so students will also be provided with fresh, healthy, nourishing, and delicious vegetarian cuisine.
