Sue Haines joins nonprofit's Board of Directors

Online PR News – 16-May-2015 – Naperville, IL – Naperville CARES, a volunteer-driven organization whose mission is to provide emergency financial support and resources for local families in crisis, announces that Sue Haines, a financial consultant for General Mills, has joined the non-profit’s board of directors.

“We are honored that Sue has agreed to join the board of Naperville CARES,” said Janet Derrick, Naperville CARES’ Executive Director, “Her compassion and experience as a volunteer with CARES, St. Vincent de Paul and Bridge Communities will enable her to provide valuable insights to the board about the obstacles faced by the neighbors we serve. Her business background also provides Sue with the skill set necessary to fulfill the fiduciary responsibilities of a CARES board member.”

With a Bachelor of Arts in Finance and French from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Sue moved to Illinois for a financial operations management position with General Mills. Later, she left the company to focus on her family while volunteering at St. Michael Parish and as School Board President, Parent Board President and Auction Co-Chair. She returned to General Mills in 2012. Sue and her husband, Tom, have two children and live in Wheaton.

Sue said, “I am excited to be a part of the Naperville CARES Board. I will continue to volunteer with CARES' clients but I look forward to being a part of the organization at the Board level to further promote the mission of serving those in need.”
