Non-Profit introduces The Passport to Self-Sufficiencyâ¢ with Yoga Fundraiser
Online PR News – 14-May-2015 – Detroit, MI – (May 12, 2015 -DETROIT, MI) â¦ COTS wants metro Detroit to master their mantras, grab their gurus and join them on Friday, May 22, 2015 for the inaugural Hà¥MIES DETROIT yoga fundraiser in West Cork Town (2556 Michigan Avenue Detroit, MI 48216) where COTS will launch The Passport to Self-Sufficiencyâ¢.
In addition to a 75-minute vinyasa & yin yoga class co-taught by 4 metro-Detroit instructors from various studios, Hà¥MIES DETROIT will also feature live music, a local food truck, silent auction and live artists creating pieces during the yoga class which will then be auctioned . The cost of the event is $20. 100% of proceeds will be donated to COTS (Coalition On Temporary Shelter and tickets can be purchased at HomiesDetroit.EventBrite.com.
Local craft beer will be provided by Crankers Brewery, Populux Nightclub (formerly Magic Stick) provided 4 VIP booth and bottle service passes to the silent auction that can be used for any event at their location and MJ Productions donated their time to provide the lighting and AV for the event. COTS will highlight its recent transition to a family-only shelter and launch of the Passport to Self-Sufficiencyâ¢. The Passport to Self-Sufficiencyâ¢ model assists families in reaching their housing, economic, health, education and career goals through coaching, mentorship and support as they strive to overcome homelessness and break the cycle of poverty for the next generation and beyond.
Founded in 1982, Coalition On Temporary Shelter (COTS) http://cotsdetroit.org is a private, non-profit organization that provides emergency shelter, transitional and permanent housing, as well as comprehensive support services for homeless families and the at-risk population. COTS mission is to alleviate homelessness by providing an array of services which enable people to achieve self-sufficiency and obtain quality affordable housing. COTS assists families in reaching their housing, economic, health, education and career goals through coaching, mentorship and support as they strive to overcome homelessness and break the cycle of poverty for the next generation and beyond.
