05/15/2015

The Annual Vista Strawberry Festival, sponsored by Tri-City Medical Center (www.tricitymed.org) and brought to you by the Vista Chamber of Commerce, is back.

Online PR News – 15-May-2015 – VISTA, CA – Last year’s event welcomed over 90,000 attendees and the event is expected to attract an even larger crowd this year.

The kids’ ride area will open earlier this year on Thursday, May 21st and feature an exciting new 250 feet Zip-line attraction that will certainly make this area even more enjoyable for kids and adults alike. In addition, the signature Chalk-Alive - Sidewalk Art display sponsored by Twin Oaks Gallery (twinoaksgallery.com) starts on Saturday, May 23rd. Everyone is invited to come out early, enjoy the rides, and watch these talented artists create their masterpieces live.

The Festival officially kicks off in Historic Downtown Vista on Sunday, May 24, 2015, at 6:45 a.m. with the Strawberry Festival Run (10K, 5K, 1-Mile, ¼-Mile) sponsored by Mossy BWM. The run, followed by a pie eating contest, strawberry costume contest, Strawberry Idol, and much more, is certain to be a day full of food, fun, memories and of course – strawberries!

Why strawberries? Vista was once the “Strawberry Capital of the World” and still boasts many strawberry fields. “The Vista Strawberry Festival is the only festival in San Diego County that celebrates all the joys and pleasures of the Strawberry”, said Chamber CEO, Bret Schanzenbach. This year’s celebration of the ‘berry will bring over 300 vendors, craft beers from local breweries, carnival rides, and more!

Mark your calendars! The event will take place on Sunday May 24, 2015, from 6:45 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. in Historic Downtown Vista. You can view a map of the location and get directions here: http://vistastrawberryfest.com/info/maps/event-location.
