Guardian Mortgage Company, Inc. participated in the 2015 Texas Mortgage Bankers Association (TMBA) Advocacy Day in Austin, Texas
Online PR News – 31-March-2015 – Plano, Texas – On March 23 and 24, Cari McCue and Anisa Johnson of Guardian Mortgage Company, Inc. participated in the 2015 Texas Mortgage Bankers Association (TMBA) Advocacy Day in Austin, Texas. The two-day event included legislative briefings and meetings with key members of the State Legislature to advocate on behalf of the TMBA.
“What made this year’s Advocacy Day so important to us was that it took place on the same day that five critical bills were being heard by the House Business and Industry Committee,” explained Cari McCue, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Guardian Mortgage and member of the TMBA Board of Directors. “Having the opportunity to speak with and discuss such issues of critical importance with members of the Legislature on such a pivotal day was very powerful.”
Throughout the year, the TMBA represents its members in state legislative hearings and with regulatory agencies. While working with regulatory issues, the TMBA also aims to meet the educational needs of its members by providing publications and developmental instructional courses.
The issues discussed during the TMBA Advocacy Day included property tax loan reform and foreclosure laws. “Being able to speak directly with those involved in creating and passing reform around topics that impact homeowners across the state is an honor and one we do not take lightly,” states McCue. “We believe deeply in taking a hands-on approach to the mortgage reform process and in the power our voices can lend to impacting positive change in the future.”
