Pesto picked in London Stock Exchange’s ‘1000 Companies to Inspire Britain’

North west based Italian restaurant group Pesto has been identified by the London Stock Exchange as one of the ‘1000 Companies to Inspire Britain’.

Online PR News – 01-April-2015 – Manchester, UK – The privately-owned company, which opened its first restaurant in 2006, was recognised in the second edition of London Stock Exchange’s ‘1000 Companies to Inspire Britain’ report published this month.

The report identifies the UK’s fastest-growing and most dynamic small and medium sized businesses (SMEs) that are making a positive impact on economic growth and job creation within the UK.

Co-owners Neil Gatt and Sara Edwards, who live in Tarporley, now have seven restaurants nationwide and also recently announced an extensive growth strategy for 2015/2016. Neil Gatt comments on the accolade:

“It’s a real honour to be included in such a prestigious report and testament to the hard work and dedication of the team in driving the company forward.

“Despite a difficult trading environment for the restaurant industry, we’re going from strength to strength and also making a positive impact to communities by transforming old pub sites into some of our most successful restaurants to date, such as Pesto at the Dicconson Arms in Wigan.
“To be named as one of the most inspiring companies is especially significant for us as we continually strive to offer an innovative dining experience for our customers with our ‘piattini’ menu and this is a true validation of our unique concept.”

Pesto, whose Head office is in Irlam, is just one of 30 companies in the Greater Manchester area recognised in the report.

To be included in the list, companies needed to show consistent revenue growth over a minimum of three years, significantly outperforming their industry peers.

Xavier Rolet, Chief Executive, London Stock Exchange Group said: “This report is a significant part of London Stock Exchange’s broader campaign to support UK high growth companies in their journeys from Start-up to Stardom and to create an entrepreneurship revolution.

“I’m delighted that a strong alliance between UK Government, financial market participants, investors, entrepreneurs and companies has been created to support these inspiring businesses.”
