Online booking tool focused on Beauty, Fitness and Complementary Therapy Sector launched on IndieGoGo.
Online PR News – 30-March-2015 – COVENTRY – UK start-up Dochsa Ltd is unveiling Dochsa Life Network, a beauty and wellness services marketplace. It is launching in UK, USA, India, South Africa, Ireland and Japan on the 1 June 2015, with plans for fast international expansion.
Dochsa will showcase personal services providers such as hairdressers, makeup and nail artists, beauticians, tattoo artists, sports therapists, fitness and yoga studios, private medical practitioners, and complementary massage therapists. The marketplace will be available as a website, with iOS and Android apps launched at the same time.
Its search engine lets customers search by what, where, when and filters service providers by service, price, location, or ratings, while service providers can manage their own listing or opt for a full managed service. Yet, The Dochsa Life Network isn’t just a directory of providers; it also lets users book services right from its platform.
In addition, some services might be available at the customers’ location. “At Dochsa, our mission is to connect anyone with the beauty and wellness services they need, whenever and wherever our customers demand it – whether at their hotel, their home or their office,” explains Dochsa CEO and Founder Donovan Sampson.
Donovan is a South African ex-pat who worked in Global IT Management and is a trained Holistic Therapist and Reiki Master. His CV includes working at SoftwareONE, a Global IT Services company and running 2 online web stores.
His latest role in Dochsa brings together his knowledge of global service providing, procurement and complementary knowledge. Utilising what he learned as Global Strategic Director and putting it into practice in this new project.
As Donovan mentioned, Dochsa was born from an observation he made while living in India: “You can easily book a taxi or order food online and yet you can’t do the same for complementary, health or beauty services.”
A convincing market opportunity
When he took his idea to his business partners and family, Donovan did not only bring his observations, but also his knowledge of the Complementary Therapy Business and also market research that persuaded them to pursue this opportunity.
The UK beauty market grew 15.5 percent, with worldwide combined sales in this sector of $42 billion in 2012. What is surprising is that most of the country’s salons and therapists have no online presence, or a limited one, and certainly don’t offer online booking.
In addition to seeing demand for a marketplace on both sides of the pond, Dochsa made sure as usual that this business model had been tested, most notably by UK-Based Wahanda. The offer outside of the UK remained more fragmented, which convinced Dochsa to go ahead and create The Life Network.
It is no secret that Dochsa has be involved in Complementary Therapies and Beauty for over a decade.
