On the 3rd April 2015 Fr Charles of The Parish of Saint Bartholomew will be unveiling a new painting of Simon of Cyrene. The painting produced by owner of Andrew Wright depicts Simon who was a man from Cyrene near present day Shahhat, Libya who during the crucifixion of Jesus Christ was compelled by the Romans to carry the cross of Jesus, according to all three Synoptic Gospels.
