A woman with Aspergers Syndrome has defied a leading Psychiatrist to set up a successful UK Business, despite being told there was no hope of a normal life.
Online PR News – 24-March-2015 – Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear – Emma Reilly, 34, from Newcastle upon Tyne, was instructed to ‘just apply’ for as many benefits as possible after a top psychiatrist failed in his attempt to cure her of a debilitating Social Phobia.
Feeling let down and isolated, Emma spent the next 12 years trying to cure herself. Despite suffering up to 15 panic attacks per day, she went on to completely rid herself of the phobia and has marked this achievement with not only a top Royal Award, but by also launching a range of designer Sunglasses inspired by the British Seaside.
The three vibrant styles, all named after the beaches they were designed on, are already 80% funded on crowdfunding platform Kickstarter.com and it is Emma’s intention to use the funding to pay for production.
“I hid behind black shades all my life, so when the world opened up to me, I wanted to celebrate that fact by designing Sunglasses which caught people’s attention” she explains.
“This whole brand came about because I was told that my future was hopeless. Instead I worked really hard to prove my doubters wrong and show people that any barrier can be overcome”.
Now, Brave & The Bold Apparel’s début Sunglasses line has not only attracted backers from all over the world, but have also attracted fans in the form of Simon Cowell & Cheryl Fernandez Versini.
Emma, who was crowned Prince’s Trust Young Ambassador of The Year, last week, is already looking to expand her range of eye-wear, as well as launch new products for travellers and adventurers.
