More than 1,000 paper art projects created for the Sixth Paper Art Expo will be on display
Online PR News – 13-March-2015 – Roseville, Mich. – From Sun., Mar. 15 through Sat., April 11, paper art projects that were created for the City of Roseville’s Sixth Paper Art Expo will be on display at Macomb Mall. More than 1,000 entries were submitted during the month of January, which the city declared Youth Art Month.
All students in kindergarten through the eighth grade, and schooled in Roseville, were eligible to compete. This included those enrolled in public, private, charter or home school programs. Each was asked to create a piece of art using one eight-and-a-half- by eleven-inch white standard copy paper. Techniques that could be used included: crayon, pencil, pen, ink, marker, hole punch, folding, tearing, adhesives, glue or tape.
All entries were judged the week of Feb. 16 with certificates valued at $25 for first place, $15 for second place and $10 for third place awarded to the top projects in four grade groups during a ceremony at Roseville City Hall. Each student who submitted a project received one free kid’s meal courtesy of Ram’s Horn in Roseville.
All entrants, regardless of award placement, will be on display inside the mall’s east entrance located near Sears.
“Displaying these amazing works of art by local youth is a highlight for all of us at Macomb Mall each year,” said Marianne Meyers, general manager of Macomb Mall. “I am so pleased to have the opportunity to share the students creativity with our customers.”
