Extraordinary musician Jonas Blomqvist has a busy road ahead with the upcoming release of Second Nature's debut album, scheduled to drop May 1.

Online PR News – 10-March-2015 – Los Angeles, CA – Los Angeles-based rock band Second Nature has announced they'll be releasing their debut album, "Second Nature," May 1.

Described as a commercial radio rock band inspired by the likes of the Foo Fighters and Green Day, Second Nature is a culmination of guitarist and songwriter Jonas Blomqvist's talents supported by lead vocalist YengLan Emma Beller, Rick Lambert (guitar), Kevin Lambertucci (bass) and Calle 'CJ' Hokdal (drums).

Beller, who is also the lead singer of the band Strix Luna, says, "Jonas is the mastermind and brings everything to the table. He has everything written when he presents the material. He made clear from the get-go that this is how it will work and I have to say... the band benefits from it tremendously!"

A master guitarist and dynamic songwriter, Blomqvist wrote and produced all of the songs on Second Nature's upcoming album.

"The lyrics are personal and written with a hopeful attitude because of the emotions I was experiencing at the time," says Blomqvist. "The songs are really catchy and energetic, and they blow out of the speakers in a very characteristic way. You will know Second Nature when you hear it!"

Hailing from Sweden, this multi-talented musician has been making waves in international music scenes for the past decade.

Jonas is the mastermind and brings everything to the table. He has everything written when he presents the material. He made clear from the get-go that this is how it will work and I have to say... the band benefits from it tremendously!

Earlier this year Blomqvist completed an incredibly successful tour across India as the lead guitarist for solo artist Bhavana Reddy, with Dennis Nilsson on drums and Kevin Lambertucci on bass.

"Jonas is the most competent guitar player I know - I wouldn't have flown him to India if he wasn't," explains Reddy. "He helped me start this whole project. If it wasn't for Jonas - This whole project might not have been as successful as it is today. He brings a great spirit to the group and this is very important when you are on tour."

An acclaimed Kuchipudi dancer and the recipient of the 2009 International Achievement Award from the International Women Of Congress in New Delhi, India, Reddy's music uniquely blends Eastern and Western influences for an overall sound that is neo-psychedelic. Although her music has a modern feel, Reddy maintains her Kuchipudi influences by incorporating elements of the classical Indian dance into the band's performances.

With the help of Blomqvist, Bhavana Reddy released the EP "Tangled in Emotion," which debuted at #19 on the CMJ radio music chart last year. The album was engineered by John Would, the engineer behind Fiona Apple’s Grammy-Nominated album "The Idler Wheel…," and mastered by Reuben Cohen from Lurssen Mastering (Slumdog Millionaire, Game of Thrones, Snoop Dogg).

About their collaboration, Blomqvist explains, "It started in the latter part of 2011 when I met Bhavana at Musicians Institute in Hollywood, CA where we became friends. One day she said to me that she had some lyrics that she wanted to explore, and that's when we started writing her biggest song ‘Smells Like Rain’."

Written by Reddy, Blomqvist and Nilsson, "Smells Like Rain" quickly became the album's hottest single, receiving an honorable mention in the “Unsigned Only’” Competition, as well as a nomination at the International Songwriting Competition USA where it made it into the top 1% out of 19,000 submissions.

In addition to playing concerts during their India tour, the band also hosted three songwriting workshops for high school students where they opened up about their writing process and taught attendees some of the tools of the trade.

Proven from the multitude of successful tracks he's written in his lifetime, if anyone is qualified to be a songwriting mentor, it's Jonas Blomqvist.

Blomqvist developed a deep appreciation for music early on in his youth, an area of interest avidly supported by his musician parents back home in Stockholm, Sweden. At age 9, Blomqvist began laying the foundation for the successful career he has today by cultivating his talents on the trombone, piano and drums; however, once he discovered the guitar at 14, all other instruments became secondary.

Soon after, Blomqvist formed the heavy metal band Everwhere. With Blomqvist writing all of the songs for the band, as well as playing lead guitar, Everwhere was an immediate hit going on to complete several successful tours and headline music festivals across Sweden.

In addition to playing with Everwhere, Bhavana Reddy and Second Nature, Blomqvist is also the lead guitarist and back-up vocalist for the alternative hard rock band Superfix, led by former touring member of the Grammy Award winning band Korn, Kalen Chase.

The band released their debut album "Never Change" last summer to wide acclaim, as well as the music video for their supercharged hit single, "Invasion."

For Jonas Blomqvist, the genre of music he plays is not as important as the quality. He says, "I recognize good music when I hear it. If it’s good, it doesn’t matter to me what genre it is."

When it comes to the guitar, Blomqvist has shown over the years that he has the ability to play just about anything and everything. Some of the other bands he has played with include Russian nu metal band Flymore, neo soul artist Elaine DaSilva, baroque metal band Ayin Aleph, pop artist Urvah Kahn, Suns of Defiance, Rachelle and The Rising, Reckless, and many more.
