Online PR News – 19-February-2015 – Ahmedabad/Gujarat – In 2015, Ecosmob Technologies has started performing various activities as part of CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) campaign. On the occasion of valentine's day, 14th Feb, 2015 the team Ecosmob went to Municipal Market, C.G. Road, Ahmedabad to do their bit towards the Clean India Drive started by PM of India, Narendra Modi.
The team Ecosmob cleaned the whole municipal market, which has been a dump-box of local shopkeepers and visitors for long. Ecosmobians cleaned wrappers, waste dishes, spoons and many other things which created a small mountain of garbage at the site. The team didn't stopped after cleaning, they also repaired the broken porch, verandas and other relics at the municipal market ground with cement to keep it intact in the future. The team also decorated the places by painting the walls, verandas and sitting places so it can be used by the locals and people hesitate messing it up again. They also painted bars on the road-bumps to make it noticeable from a distance. They also stick and hung some posters of cleanliness so that people follow the cleanliness basics. The cleaning activities followed by the personal visit to the local shops with a request to try to keep the area clean.
“It took almost 6 hours to clean this place and we are happy that we did our bit for our country as being part of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. We are also happy to see the support provided by a few local shopkeepers here, namely, Jay Bhavani and Lakhsmi, Posh, Cona and Fashion hub. Without asking, they provided us food, water and tea. In fact, the owner of a local shop joined us in cleaning the place. We wish all local shopkeeper understand the value of cleanliness and maintain this place clean. Also a few visitors joined us for some time.”, said spokesperson of Ecosmob.
The local shopkeeper also shared their views. The majority of them blamed others for the filthiness, but a few decided to be more conscious about cleanliness. A few also shared the problems they are facing, They mentioned, “There is no government support to keep this place clean. Municipality doesn't send any sweeper to sweep this area even if it is their land. Nobody even change the defused street lights here. The committee members play blame games and don't even try to get a dustbin per shop.”
The Ahmedabad City Police appreciated the efforts of the company and gave balloons to the team as a token of appreciation. It's good to see that company bear the whole cost of sweeping and painting the place without any external support and set an example for others.
