London, England - Comet Sports
With a stellar 98 per cent customer satisfaction rating from trusted review websites, Comet Sports continues to enjoy a meteoric rise to the top.

In just two short years, the enterprising start-up firm has gone from having a flourishing online presence to being a “must-have” retail outlet on the high street.

Their online customers have spoken… and Comet Sports has listened. By popular demand, Comet Sports will be opening its first, eagerly-anticipated retail store in Croydon later this month.

A.N.Hurtado, Managing Director of Comet Sports, a specialist online supplier of American Sports equipment in the UK, is encouraged by the company’s early achievements and is equally excited about its future prospects.

With baseball currently being considered for inclusion in the Rio 2020 Olympic Games, Hurtado has hatched a comprehensive plan to put the sport back on the Olympic map.

"Making the Olympic program takes a sport with a universal following," says Hurtado, himself a US-trained semi-professional baseball player.

Ever the baseball enthusiast, Hurtado believes the key to baseball securing that all-important Olympic selection lies at 'grass roots' level. "Olympic success starts in the school system," he observes.

Making the shortlist of Olympic sports is no mean feat. Even American fan favourite, baseball, has its work cut out.

Hurtado is convinced that his brainchild, Comet Sports, can be instrumental in making baseball a part of the National Curriculum.

Big believers in Corporate Social Responsibility, Comet Sports is a new company with a growing social impact campaign - offering free baseball 'taster' sessions to schools, with professional coaching provided.

The aim of these offerings is simple: to provide resources to encourage gifted children and young adults to consider baseball as a professional sporting endeavour.

Hurtado explains, "We have the products, services and partnerships to help fast-track talented individuals into the British Baseball team. Who knows? Some might even make it into MLB!"

Described by the BBF as "the new players in British baseball," Comet Sports is a small company with big ambitions.

Confidence in the fledgling company's products is such that, in 2014, many teams throughout Europe signed exclusive deals for Comet Sports to supply official equipment.

And word is getting around fast, even in more conventionally 'British' sporting circles. Comet Sports counts none other than a premier league Football Club, as among its first serious customers.

“In the last couple of years, we have successfully expanded our product offering to provide our customers with premium-quality sports gear right across the board – from tennis to American Football. We have even ventured into sports supplementation, which is the centrepiece of modern sports nutrition,” said Hurtado.

Hurtado wasted no time in outlining the firm’s ambitions: “As we approach the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, we have our sights firmly set on further expansion [into sports fashion] and, ultimately, championing our first love – baseball – as a top-tier Olympic sport.”

In what promises to be an unmissable grand opening, Comet Sports will kick-off proceedings with a ceremonial “cutting of the red ribbon” outside the store front followed by a spread of traditional American-style snacks inside.

To mark the occasion, the first ten paying customers will receive in-store discount vouchers courtesy of Comet Sports.

The official launch of Comet Sports Croydon looks set to be much more than a store opening – it promises to be an event.
