Quarterly Industrial and Systems Engineering Publication Brings on New Editor-in-Chief
Online PR News – 15-February-2015 – San Diego, California – The Journal for Enterprise Transformation (JET) has named Rahul C. Basole, Ph.D. as the new editor-in-chief. A quarterly joint publication of the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) and Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE), JET brings together interdisciplinary research in management, industrial and systems engineering, information systems, organizational behavior, political science, economics and more.
“Rahul has a strong focus on enterprise transformation, along with computational enterprise science, visual analytics and strategic decision support, that makes him the ideal candidate for JET’s new editor-in-chief,” said outgoing JET Co-editor Deborah Nightingale. “Through his work at the journal, he will continue to spread the word about the solutions necessary to integrate organizations, knowledge, information, processes, strategy and technology.”
Basole is currently associate professor of the School of Interactive Computing and associate director of the Tennenbaum Institute for Enterprise Transformation at Georgia Institute of Technology, as well as a visiting scholar at Stanford University. During his four-year term as head editor he will be responsible for the technical content and direction of JET, providing a forum for original articles on trends, new findings and ongoing research (both theory and application) related to enterprise transformation. He previously served on JET’s editorial board for two years.

A highly accomplished engineering and computing professional, Basole has won many grants, including most recently for the Boeing Corporation’s “Visualization Support for Complex System Engineering Design.” He has authored numerous articles in leading engineering, computer science and management journals, led dozens of conference publications and presentations, along with books, including co-authoring the forthcoming “Computational Modeling of Complex Enterprise Systems: A Multi-Level Approach.” Basole serves as a reviewer for 17 publications and is on the editorial board for INFORMS Service Science and for a special issue of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Transactions on Service Computing, as well as the Journal of Information Technology.
Also, he currently advises a number of Ph.D. and masters of science candidates. Basole holds degrees from Georgia Institute of Technology; Stanford University; University of Michigan, Ann Arbor; and Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
