INNOTRANS 2010 provides a unique platform to the players of this industry to meet railway operators from around the globe and discuss business opportunities in the export markets. The event will host the French Pavilion, organized by UBIFRANCE, French agency for international development, bringing together leading French companies from the railway sector. To support these companies in their export drives, â€śInternational meetings of rail and urban transportâ€ť will be organized at the French Pavilion.
INNOTRANS 2010 is the key event for French and international railway players, offering unparalleled program of conferences, conventions and exhibition. The biennial event attracts a growing number of visitors from around the world. In 2008, it received over 80,000 visitors and 1,900 exhibitors from 41 countries. The French Pavilion at the trade show, consisting of 80 world renowned French companies in the rail sector will be spread across two specialized halls. This presence includes companies from two regional clusters: Northern France Rail, the leader in the French railway industry, and Neopolia Rail Cluster, the rail segment of the Atlantic industrial cluster. In addition, there will be independent companies representing all sectors of rail and urban transport: electronic equipment, ticketing, infrastructure, maintenance, tramways, etc.
The â€śInternational meetings of rail and urban transportâ€ť, which will take place on 22nd and 23rd September on the â€śFrench pavilionâ€ť, will give these companies an opportunity to meet rail experts from UBIFRANCE and French Trade Commissions' international network. Moreover, the B2B meetings and multi-country information workshops being organized at the Pavilion will be a source of information for market opportunities, local business set-up methods or partnerships and new business trends. The representatives of the 16 French Trade Commissions world-wide will also organize a guided tour of the â€śFrench Pavilionâ€ť for the foreign policy-makers of their country who are exhibiting at or attending the show. The meetings will be followed by a business cocktail party sponsored by Colas Rail, Corus Rail, Corys-Tess and Leroy Automation.
Despite the economic crisis, French companies in the rail sector are reporting good results. There is keen interest in high-speed train lines, tramways are making a comeback in towns and regional express trains are gaining popularity. The French rail industry generated total sales of â‚¬4.01 billion in 2008 (including â‚¬1.08 billion in exports) and employs a workforce of 16,000. The sectorâ€™s sales have more than doubled in 12 years (â‚¬1.74 billion in 1996).
