Join us for the 18th Annual NowRoz Festival at the Alameda County Fairgrounds on April 12. Featuring special performances, activities, and a fireworks show.
Online PR News – 12-February-2015 – Pleasanton, CA – Did you go to the 2014 NowRoz festival? If so, you know it was a super positive event for the American, Afghan & Persian communities. The NowRoz festival strives to promote ourselves in a positive light so we can all put our differences aside and work together to create a better community for ourselves.
Our festival strategically sets up dozens of fun activities to bring good vibes to our community throughout the day. You can experience the day with loved one’s or meet a new friendly face as you listen to live music by popular recording artists, ethnic and modern fashion shows, talent shows, comedy and cultural dance showcases.
Other free activities also include cultural exhibitions, face painting, balloon artists, famous celebrity and author meet and greet, a kid’s zone, carnival games, rides and much more to be announced.
A little lighthearted competition can bring the best out in everyone. This year we have Chess, Tug Of War, and Eating Championships with trophies and cash prizes ranging from $50-$200! We also offer traditional Afghan games like Egg Jangi, which involves players tapping hardboiled eggs in order to make them crack.
Nothing brings people closer together then a warm meal. A variety of Afghan & Persian food and delicacies will be available for attendees at our international food area, and our vendor bazaar will have booths with goods from Afghanistan, Iran and around the globe.
Events like the NowRoz festival counter recent bad publicity in the news media by publicizing the fun and gracious side of the Afghan & Persian community.
The 2015 NowRoz Festival promises an amazing day and an opportunity to join and help support the American Persian & Afghan communities through this enlightening event.
