Rich Greenwood, Director of Instruction at Tour Golf in Agoura Hills, California talks about why golfers "Shank" the golf ball

Online PR News – 10-February-2015 – Agoura Hills, California – Rich Greenwood, Director of Instruction at Tour Golf in Agoura Hills, California talks about why golfers will shank the ball. Rich feels there are many reasons why a golfer might "Shank" the golf ball. Rich says, “The Shanks can be like a disease hard to get rid of and many players have quit the game from having them.” He talks about even one of the Greatest Players in the World, Tiger Woods is having a bout with them.

Rich feels all is not lost and the "Shanks" don’t need to be a game ender. In his video he describes 4 different reasons for Shanking the ball off to the right. He talks about some of the common faults as being too close to the ball, swinging too inside out, having the ball position too far back in the stance or coming over the top on the downswing. Rich feels most golfers fall into these faults.

Rich gives the golfer a quick fix if they are in a bind. He explains by putting a leaf or a tee to the inside of the ball and having the golfer focus on hitting the tee and ball together. Rich feels this will allow the golfer to hit the ball in the middle of the club face. He claims, "This is a for sure cure to get rid of the dreaded Shanks!"
