On Location: MEMPHIS to Present Oscar-Nominated Short Films in Early February

The On Location: MEMPHIS International Film & Music Fest will present Oscar-nominated animated & live action short films on February 3 and 4.

Online PR News – 27-January-2015 – Memphis, TN – Continuing its longstanding tradition of bringing the best in filmmaking from around the world to the Mid-South, the On Location: MEMPHIS International Film & Music Fest will once again screen Oscar-nominated Animated and Live Action short films in advance of the 87th Academy Awards.

The program, presented by Shorts International and Magnolia Pictures, will take place at Malco Studio on the Square in Memphis’ historic Midtown district. The Animation nominees will be screened on Tuesday, February 3, with the Live Action slate taking center stage on Wednesday, February 4. The screening time for both programs is 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 per night and are available on the On Location: MEMPHIS website or at http://on-location-memphis.ticketleap.com/2015-oscar-shorts/.

The 2015 Best Short Film, Animated nominees are: Me and My Moulton, Feast, The Bigger Picture, A Single Life and The Dam Keeper. Additional highly acclaimed animated shorts to be screened include Sweet Cocoon, Footprints, Duet and Bus Story, along with one film yet to be determined. The Best Short Film, Live Action nominees consist of: Parvaneh, Boogaloo and Graham, Aya, The Phone Call and Butter Lamp. This year On Location: MEMPHIS will also host an Academy Awards watch party on Sunday, February 22, at Strano! Sicilian Kitchen & Bar in the Cooper-Young portion of Midtown. Admission the event is free, however, donations to benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Memphis are encouraged. Throughout the evening prizes will be awarded to individuals who select winners in various categories. Donations to the Ronald McDonald House will be accepted during the short film screenings as well.
