Responsible for EdTrIn’s acquisition of learning content within the UK and Europe for distribution worldwide via its online learning technology platform, Jim – a former Development Director at Aston Business School, Aston University - is also Director of Global Innovation Solutions Education Relations.
At Aston Business School, Jim broadened the customised portfolio of client programmes and expanded the client base to cover, among other organisations, national and local governments, the National Health Service, financial services, engineering, mobile communications and IT support organisations. Before taking up his role in the education sector, Jim worked in a European-centric, not-for-profit organisation promoting the development of e-business throughout the IT industry. This remit was expanded to develop relationships with the European Commission, UNECE and national governments in Europe including transition economies.
Graeme Coomber, EdTrIn’s CEO, commented: “The most vital attributes for those marketing the services of any education provider is understanding the expertise they have to offer and being able to identify with the businesses to which they’re talking. Jim’s business strengths, astute commercial experience and clear business focus allows him this insight – which is why we’re delighted he has joined EdTrIn.
“Within three years, EdTrIn intends to service the lifetime learning needs of 1m people - from their early adult years to retirement. Jim will play a key part in this, through sourcing much of the learning content that these people will need – and use.”
According to Jim: “At this stage of my career - after successfully heading up businesses across the UK, Europe and the Far East – I’d like to use this expertise to guide people and businesses to an education resource that can make a real and positive difference.”
