Libyans Join Growing Call for Broader UN Involvement in Libya

Press Conference to be held today, Thursday, December 18, 2014

Online PR News – 18-December-2014 – New York, NY – Libyan Nationals are joining the growing call for broader UN involvement in Libya, unveiling “The Libyan National Crises Resolution Initiative” (LNCRI). The nonpartisan, grassroots initiative, which is signed by over 150 concerned Libyans in its debut, will officially be launched today, Thursday, December 18, 2014 at 11am in the United Nations Headquarters, Press Briefing Room, S-237.

The deteriorating situation in Libya has reached a point in which its polarizing effect created severe rifts among Libyans on many fronts. The recent tragic events galvanized the emotions of many Libyans who are seeking a solution to the current crises, and see a greater need for all to rise to the call of rescuing a nation and its people from the brink of calamity.

This initiative contends that Libyans must stand to take ultimate responsibility for the situation Libya is in, and be prepared to take a leap out of the current inferno and embark on a constructive path that ensures the best chance, in the best way possible, to build our nation with the help of the best available expertise the world has to offer.

We recognize that such an endeavor can only be successful if Libya is stabilized and afforded the opportunity to emerge as a successful nation as it once did under the leadership of the United Nations over sixty years ago. By securing a more active leadership role, LNCRI believes that the current collision course can be reversed.
