My Life, My Dialysis Choice (MyDialysisChoice.org), a free, online dialysis treatment decision aid, has received the 2014 GOLD Web Health Award.

Online PR News – 17-December-2014 – Madison, WI – My Life, My Dialysis Choice (MyDialysisChoice.org), a free, online decision aid, has received a 2014 GOLD Web Health Award in the Web-based Resource/Tool category. Developed by the non-profit Medical Education Institute (MEI), the tool helps people with chronic kidney disease (CKD) see how various types of dialysis would fit their lifestyle and health values.

The method of dialysis has a huge effect on quality of life and can influence a patient’s ability to keep a job maintain a normal family life and continue to enjoy the things that make life worth living.

Patients with late-stage CKD are faced with choices that will affect their lifestyles and longevity. “My Life, My Dialysis Choice helps CKD patients understand all of the dialysis options,” said MEI Executive Director, Dori Schatell, MS. “The method of dialysis has a huge effect on quality of life, and can influence a patient’s ability to keep a job, maintain a normal family life, and continue to enjoy the things that make life worth living.”
