– Ultimate test of endurance sees competitors heading to Koh Samui
08/06/2010 announces that the Thai island of Koh Samui will play host to one of Asia’s most grueling race events as part of the Amazing Thailand Adventure Race Series.

Online PR News – 06-August-2010 – – The picturesque island will form the circuit for the Ibis Koh Samui Trophy 2010, a race that features a succession of running, biking, kayaking and swimming disciplines.

The race will be made up of teams of two people and will be divided into categories of men, women, mixed, masters (combined age over 80 years) and seniors (combined age over 100 years).

The course will compromise a 45km bike ride, a 1000m swim, 10 kilometers of kayaking and a 15km run although event organizers, Active Management Asia (AMA) will be including a few surprises along the way.

Rules stipulate that each race member of a team must stay within 100 meters of each other for the duration of the event or face a time penalty. Contestants will also have to sign in at a series of mandatory check points to ensure people stick to within the course.

The race will be taking place on Saturday, 2nd October 2010 and people staying in Koh Samui resorts are invited to come along and cheer on the teams as they compete in the hot and humid conditions.

For people looking for a slightly less strenuous activity there will also be a 5km run at the same time as the event which is free to enter for schools and children.
