Event raises funds to support at risk youth.
Online PR News – 30-September-2014 – Portland, ME – NTI employees Suzanne Champagne, Annemarie Dawson, Denise Reiff, and Jennifer Thompson had the pleasure of attending the My Place Teen Center (MPTC) Fund-A-Kid Celebration and Award Night on Thursday, September 25th on behalf of Northeast Technical Institute. The Fund-A-Kid Celebration kicked off with musical entertainment and food, presentation of awards, a live auction and a MPTC Video of the kids telling their story.
The event was an effort to raise funds to support the non-profit organization, help prepare and feed 14,000 meals to teens, and to provide an after-school, year-round, free program for youths between the ages of 10 and 18. The kids can do their homework, take free cooking classes with the owner of the Frog and Turtle, take guitar lessons, play video games and just hang out in a bully free, safe environment.
Each year Northeast Technical Institute hosts multiple fundraising events throughout the year for one specific organization. This year they are proud to announce that the monies raised will be given to My Place Teen Center.
My Place Teen Center, located in Westbrook, Maine, provides a safe haven for youth, ages 10 - 18, sustaining them with comfort, meals, resources and hope. Their vision is that all youth will have the academic, job readiness, and life skills necessary to lead independent adult lives filled with stewardship, courage, passion and joy.
