PRIMUS is projected to have close to 1000 employees by end of Fiscal Year 2014-15.
In a press release, PRIMUS’s Chaimran & CEO Mr. Sunil Kilaru informed that PRIMUS would be opening its branch office in Vizag shortly. Our goal is hire around 100 Employees in the Vizag branch who would support various MNC clients of PRIMUS like HP, IBM, Accenture, Oracle, Capgemini, Microsoft, SAP, E & Y etc.
In the initial phase, Instead of going for fresh recruitment, PRIMUS is planning to relocate some of their employees from Hyderabad & Bangalore Branches to Vizag. Mr. Sunil Kilaru added that employee’s from Bangalore and Hyderabad do not have any issues moving to Vizag as they have a better quality of life in terms of cost of living and traffic. With the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh and the new Andhra Pradesh Government announcing to build Vizag as a Industrial and a IT Hub, lot of Talented Professionals who were migrating to Hyderabad under a United Andhra are now looking to find jobs in Vizag.
PRIMUS would be targeting Professionals with Engineering and MBA backgrounds to serve its clients. A NASSCOM report listed certain key strengths to Visakhapatnam, most significant being its knowledge pool. Visakhapatnam produces enough qualified engineering graduates, sufficient for export potential and capacity, now generate interest for senior and experienced technical personnel for long-term viability of the city. Another factor that goes in favour of Vizag is its good cosmpolitan outlook which helps in attracting and retaining IT Talent in Vizag. Currently 95% of all IT in the state of Andhra Pradesh is from Vizag. State Government is doing its part in making sure Tech Giants like Wipro, Tech Mahindra, IBM, WNS are opening center’s here. Air Connectivity which plays a big part for the IT crowd is good as Airlines like Spice Jet, Indigo, Air India and Air Costa are currently functional from Vizag airport.
IT industry registered an impressive growth in financial year 2012–13, according to data released by the state IT department. Visakhapatnam IT/ITeS revenues rose 20% to Rs 14.45 billion in 2012–13 as against Rs 12 billion in 2011–12. The employment generated by the IT/ITeS industry of the city increased to 16,988 jobs from 16,000 in 2011–12 periods.
