India Vision Foundation is a non-profit organization founded by Ramon Magsaysay Award winner Dr. Kiran Bedi – the first lady IPS of India for her path breaking prison reforms inside Asia’s largest prison – Tihar.
Started with the mission of transforming lives, beginning from cradle through Crèche (as the foundation is working inside Tihar prison in New Delhi & Gurgaon prison in Haryana) and thereby helping the children to build a career and saving them from being victimized from society as well as from circumstances. The foundation is today reaching out to more than 280 children, whose either or both parents’ are incarcerated.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Bedi, Chairperson - IVF said “It is a moment of pride for me as our first batch children have just been hired by different companies and are looking forward to great careers ahead!! While another batch is pursuing vocational courses as varied as Hotel Management, Mass Communication, Montessori training, Dental, Computer and Automobile Engineering etc”.
Applauding the support of the ones associated with the foundation, she said, “In this Noble Cause, the foundation is supported by like-minded friends / donors / organizations that have been our pillars of strength, helping us to reach the unreached and thereby touching lives, hitherto engulfed in crime & poverty through our various projects and activities.”
In its 20th year of inception, India Vision Foundation is looking forward to celebrate the hopes, aspiration and dreams of its children along with their released parents / family members; as well as IVF’s donors and well wishers.
A movie encapsulating IVF’s mission of transforming lives of it’s beneficiaries was shown on this occasion. Also guests were presented trophies and certificates for their academic excellence and highlighting commitment and contribution towards the cause.
Additional highlight at the event was the introduction of IVF-KIT School by Dr Kiran Bedi.
Also to mark this momentous occasion, IVF proudly presented - 'FATEH'.
‘Fateh’- the collection of inspiring stories brings to the world a personal recount of young people's triumph over their tragedies. These young people under the guidance of IVF are pursuing their careers, hobbies, dreams, with a deep sense of gratitude and desire to give back.
‘Fateh’ gives you a peek inside the lives of a section of society no one gives any attention to. They all belong to vulnerable families and most have been a victim of a crime or have witnessed one. Yet they are extremely proud to be associated with India Vision and have the utmost gratitude. They have used their circumstances as a catalyst to move forward and become achievers rather than wallow in self-pity.
This book shows us the generosity of their spirit, their confidence and their joie de vivre. It is also a showcase of the work done by Dr. Bedi’s foundation in actually changing lives and building the youth of India.
We urge you to support this book, as proceeds will go to 'Saving the next victim’
