In such a context PRSI, Kolkata chapter ventures to present Engage, 2014 with the concept “Growth through Digital”. The concept had reached to its summit when Soumyajit Mahapatra, Secretary, PRSI, Kolkata Chapter introduced the idea of “ Discussing 720-Degree Communication” what actually expressed that the 360-degree universe of two interacting people can be easily bridged today thus expanding the reach to 720-degree. Narendra R. Mukerje, Chairman of PRSI, Kolkata Chapter added that this was the conference to gain comprehensive knowledge of consumer behavior and get a clear picture of the changing dynamics in Public Relations and digital marketing.
The program was inaugurated by Ram Ray, Chairman, Response group which was followed by Mahesh Murthy, Managing partner, founder, Seedfund, Pinstorm speaking on the topic, “Transforming your brand and business for the digital world.” He pointed out that in recent times the customer expectations and preferences are hugely driven by the advancement and easy availability of technology and technology based products and services. Hence, he thinks it is imperative for a business to adapt itself to this change.
The program proceeded with “Google’s India Vision”; speech delivered by Ms. Paroma Roy Chowdhury, Director and Country Head, Corporate Communications and Public affairs, Google India. She is optimistic, Google sees a huge opportunity in Indian market. Mohit Hira, SVP and Digital Head, JWT India Group spoke on “Offline-Online Synergy-Complete Consumer Connection.” He is of the opinion that India today is going through a phase of transformation which applies to Indian businesses and markets as well. Every business today needs to accept the importance and spread of online media for communication. Akhil B. Paul, CEO, Mayabious Art emphasized on “Curriculum Must Embrace Digital Studies.” When Businesses are transforming their way of operating from traditional to digital, the young India who is the future workforce cannot be far behind. The education platforms should now revamp their curriculamto suit the needs of the business of new India. “Application Of Data Science In Digital Media” was discussed by Soma Banerjee, Director, Data Brio Academy .Data Science makes Digital Media a unique communication tool where the effectiveness of the media can be scientifically measured. “Digital Transformation Of Business” was discussed by Sunil kumar, President, Exchange4media Group, Nishad Ramchandran, VP, HansaCequity and Nirupam Chaudhuri, Regional Head-East NASSCOM and Arun Agarwal, CEO, EbizIndia. Abhishek Rungta, Founder and CEO, Indus Net Technologies spoke on demystifying Content Marketing. Panelists Dr. Bedabrata Pain, Scientist and Film Maker, Subrata Sen, Film Maker, Ravi Sharma, President, Film, Shree Venkatesh Films and Roopsha Dasguupta, Station Head, Power 107.8 FM deliberated on “Film Industry-New Horizons.” The Indian film industry is the largest producer of films in the world, producing over 1000 films a year.
