New LifeStyles recently launched a website, featuring an advanced search tool and resources to make life easier for healthcare professionals and clients.

Often times, seniors and their loved ones rely solely on these professionals to provide guidance in a typically overwhelming search. Wanting to revolutionize access to this information, New LifeStyles recently launched a cutting-edge website, featuring an advanced search tool and resourceful content to make life easier for healthcare professionals and the individuals they serve. The new site provides immediate access to senior care options based on location, allowing users to create, save and share a list of options with seniors and their families. Healthcare professionals have relied on the New LifeStyles print guides for objective information in the senior care industry for more than 25 years, as they are sent home with families to help them in their search. The new website gives them additional tools to customize searches and better assist families.
“To help us design a site that would be truly beneficial to healthcare professionals, we surveyed social workers and discharge planners across the nation to get their feedback,” said Doug Fusella, COO and President of New LifeStyles. “Our goal was to create a specific portal encompassing tools that provide access to resourceful information and helpful search features. We used their feedback to create a website that is easy to use and assists them in locating optimal senior care and housing.”
The website features three portals, one for seniors and their loved ones, one for communities and care providers and one for senior care professionals. Each portal was designed to meet the particular needs of each group. When looking at the design of the portal for healthcare professionals, New LifeStyles held focus groups to find out what would help them the most. They found that advanced search results’ filters to hone in on specialties within different care sectors, and sharable features for the searches would be most helpful.
“Those assisting seniors can choose from more than 100 filters when using the advanced search tool,” said Fusella. “For example, if a family is looking for nursing care, they can narrow down their search to look for communities that serve seniors who have suffered a brain injury, or offer respiratory therapy, or offer sub-acute care, just to name a few options. We also wanted to give them the option to save and share searches, so that they can send a starter list to the seniors they serve. The list is also useful to reference later should the senior or a family member have questions.”
Healthcare professionals can search for senior living and care options based on a city or zip code with radius, and an interactive map greatly assists in pinpointing the locations of the communities and providers. Users can read about care providers, see photos and in some cases, take a virtual tour. The new website also has filters so people can search for providers based on financial needs, such as Medicare, Medicaid, VA and other forms of help. The digital technology complements the company’s mobile site, App, print and digital guides, giving users a wide range of information through a variety of channels.
“It brings us great satisfaction to assist individuals in the healthcare industry whose goal is to help seniors,” said Fusella. “Our website is free, objective and comprehensive. We have more than 100,000 licensed communities and providers, including nursing, hospice, assisted living, memory care and home care providers represented, and we feel good about being able to provide that information to social workers, discharge planners and healthcare professionals across the country.”
The New LifeStyles print guides are available at many senior centers, hospitals and other public places around the country. The print edition can also be ordered over the phone or online and sent to a family’s home. A digital copy is available online for those wishing to access and share the booklet in real-time.
