Open House showcases what preschool has to offer new families and seeks donations for nonprofit’s young residents
Online PR News – 02-August-2014 – Newbury Park, CA – Finding the right preschool can be a challenging task. To help families who have preschool-aged children, two Woodcrest Preschools in the Conejo Valley will hold a free community-wide family fun day inviting families into their classrooms, so people can interview teachers and administrators and see first-hand what they have to offer. Visitors are encouraged to bring new school supplies or a back-to-school clothing item for Many Mansions Children’s Services, a nonprofit affordable-housing group in Thousand Oaks.
This year’s Community-Wide Family Fun Day is 11a.m. - 1 p.m. August 16 at two locations: in Newbury Park at 107 Teardrop Court, and at the Agoura location, 28370 Roadside Dr. The event also features family entertainment, crafts, food and activities prizes and more. Each of the classrooms will provide a different activity such as decorating cookies or doing a craft. Facilities will be open for children to play and explore and classrooms will be open for touring.
“When you’re shopping for your child, pick up an extra item for a less fortunate child and we’ll bring all donations to Many Mansions. Families are encouraged to bring new school supplies, backpacks, gift cards, and new and nearly new items of back-to-school clothing,” said Karen Williams, director of Newbury Park Woodcrest Preschool. “Involving kids at an early age helps them develop a greater social awareness when it comes to giving back. For our Open House, we invite the community into our school and classrooms to show them what we can provide their children and hopefully help them choose what they think might be best for their families.”
Woodcrest Preschool is now enrolling for September and will be providing tours at both preschool locations. They teach children ages 18 months to five years old, from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, offering preschool and daycare.
