San Francisco Bay Area Readies For Bay Area Family Literacy Day

Event to feature Kids Activity Zone, entertainment, performing artists, celebrity guests, author readings, book signings, & New York Times best selling authors

Youth Program will make it easy for families, individuals and groups to celebrate Bay Area Family Literacy Day. They are producing a literary and entertainment-themed event expected to attract nearly 18,000 visitors from and outside the San Francisco Bay Area. The funfest will take place at Barnes & Noble and Bay Street Retail/Entertainment, 5604 Bay St. Emeryville, CA from 9 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Bay Area Family Literacy Day boasts a Kids Activity Zone, entertainment, performing artists, celebrity guests, author readings and book signings, and New York Times best selling fiction authors, Virginia DeBerry and Donna Grant, Mary Monroe and more.

The event is not only one of the San Francisco Bay Area's premier arts programs, it is one of the region's most highly attended public events of its kind and size. The free admission was made possible by sponsors which include Barnes & Noble, CBS Outdoor, Michael Belcher and Madison Bay Street LLC.

"Bay Area Family Literacy Day is one of our biggest events of the year. We expect a unique gathering for families, the community and artists alike to experience and share the power of words through creativity in writing, spoken word, and more," stated G.E.M.S. Martin says the event will feature performances, workshops, and dialogues that encourage the exploration and celebration of reading and cultural diversity that engage positive expression.
