Hotel features next generation design suited for business and leisure travel
Online PR News – 23-July-2014 – Columbus, Ohio – Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott announces the opening of the newest hotel at Port Columbus International Airport on Wednesday, July 23, 2014, which will bring the brand’s new strides in design into the city of Columbus, Ohio. From new, inventive public spaces to bright, inviting décor, the hotel will deliver on the needs of both the business and leisure traveler. The 121-room Fairfield Inn & Suites Columbus Airport will operate as a Marriott franchise, developed by RB Hotel Development on behalf of owner Columbus Regional Airport Authority (CRAA), and managed by First Hospitality Group, Inc. of Rosemont, Illinois.
“Delivering both function and comfort, our new design and décor elevate the Fairfield brand, setting a new standard in the moderate tier category and we are excited to work with Rockbridge, an expert in industry design, to bring the hotel to success,” said Shruti Buckley, vice president and global brand manager, Fairfield Inn & Suites. “At Fairfield Inn & Suites, we provide an easy, positive and productive travel experience, as well as the promise of consistent and reliable service at an exceptional value. The Fairfield Inn & Suites Columbus Airport is a truly stunning example of the brand’s contemporary new look and feel, and we are pleased with the continued growth of Fairfield Inn & Suites hotels in the Columbus area.”
According to STR, rising air travel volume has resulted in record rooms sold at airport hotels, and with increased demand coupled with muted supply increases, airport hotels are a lucrative new development target for hotel investors. Located at 4300 International Gateway and adjacent to the terminal, the property is only seven miles from downtown and offers business travelers convenient access to Easton Town Center, Nationwide Arena and Ohio State University.
Fairfield Inn & Suites Columbus Airport and the CRAA engaged Rockbridge – a leading hotel investment firm – and its affiliates to design and develop the project. RB Hotel Development, LLC served as the development manager and RB Hospitality Advisors, LLC serves as the investment manager for the CRAA.
“Rockbridge has enjoyed collaborating with Fairfield Inn & Suites and the Columbus Regional Airport Authority to create exemplary, well-designed accommodations, which we’re certain will achieve our vision for a tremendous guest experience,” said Dave Lutz, senior vice president owner services of RB Hotel Development, LLC. “We sought to build a great hotel that would complement the CRAA’s goals to make Port Columbus a world-class airport for all visitors.”
The new Fairfield Inn & Suites’ transition to a Gen4 hotel for the Marriott brand features amenities that are highly attractive to airport travelers, including an expanded indoor pool, an updated fitness center and a 34-seat cocktail lounge with full-service bar and outdoor patio area. The breakfast area’s signature farm table provides a central gathering place where guests can enjoy complimentary hot breakfast.
As the first Fairfield Inn & Suites in Columbus to highlight the brand’s new design, guests are welcomed upon arrival with modern, bright decor and an updated exterior, signature tower, curved porte-cochere and inviting glass entrance. Once inside, lodgers experience the hotel’s open public space emphasizing natural light and ample connectivity options for business needs.
Inspired by nature, the intricately designed “smart” rooms and suites feature living and working areas for guests to enjoy a comfortable, productive environment. Flexible and functional, the guest room includes a well-designed work area, mobile desk, an ergonomic chair, task lighting and convenient electrical outlets. The hotel also offers a meeting room with 416 square feet of space to accommodate functions of up to 24 attendees.
Additional conveniences include an airport shuttle, valet laundry service and complimentary Wi-Fi.
