AHIVOY announces that its largest cohort will celebrate completion of the Wine Industry Professional Training Program on April 27, 2022 at Lange Estate Winery.

Online PR News – 07-April-2022 – Dundee, Oregon – The Asociación Hispana de la Industria del Vino en Oregon y Comunidad (AHIVOY) is proud to announce that its largest cohort will celebrate completion of the Wine Industry Professional Training Program on April 27, 2022 at Lange Estate Winery & Vineyards, 8380 NE Buena Vista Dr, Dundee, OR from noon to 3 pm. In collaboration with Chemeketa Community College and Linfield University, AHIVOY established the program to acquaint vineyard stewards to the range of opportunities available to them in the Oregon Wine Industry beyond their current positions. The first two cohorts, a total of 18 men and women, completed the program in 2021 despite delays and restrictions imposed by the pandemic. The 15 men who will graduate are Adan Vega Alcantar (Scenic Valley Farms), Alfredo Hernandez Lopez (Lange Estate Winery and Vineyards), Fernando Negrete (Vitis Terra Vineyard), Francisco (Jose) Tejada (Results Partners), Hector Cabrera (Argyle Winery), Hilario Contreras (Laurelwood Vineyard Management), Jesus Barajas (Results Partners), Jorge Cerpas (Bjornson Vineyard), Jose Garcia (Eyrie Vineyards), Jose Rameriz (Star Mooring Vineyard), Juan Carlos Olmedo (Patricia Green), Juan Mendoza (Results Partners), Luis Vargas (NW Wine Co.), Rosario (Jose) Madrigal (Results Partners), and Jose Lemus (Vitis Terra Vineyard).

Jesse Lange of Lange Estate Winery & Vineyards, an enthusiastic supporter of the program, explains its benefits: “We’ve had the honor of having three of our long-time employees participate in the AHIVOY program- one for each year of its existence. Each participant has shown increased education, aptitude, and enthusiasm after completion of the scholarship. This kind of opportunity for engagement is wildly successful- for the students as well as the employers. Our Oregon, wine-country community created this curriculum from scratch- let’s bring this wonderful program to scale!”

Classes for the 2023 cohort will be held every Wednesday from January 4 through April 26 at the Eola campus of Chemeketa Community College in Salem. Applications are now available and are due November 1, 2022. To apply, learn more, or donate, visit ahivoyoregon.org.
