Online PR News – 29-March-2022 – St. Louis, MO – Sustainable protein startup Mighty Cricket advanced to the Top 100

Finalists voting round of the FedEx Small Business Grant, competing for a $50,000 equity-free grant. A
whopping 18,000 small businesses applied for the grant, and ten companies will be selected for a grant.
“St. Louisans, Missourians, Midwesterners, Foodies, Environmentalists, and Bug Lovers have given us
so much support over the years. It’s our community that puts the MIGHTY in Mighty Cricket, and now
we’re relying on you once again to push us to the finish line,” said Sarah Schlafly, CEO of Mighty
Cricket. Voters may submit a vote for Mighty Cricket every 24 hours from now through March 31st at

This is not the first time the St. Louis community has rallied behind Mighty Cricket. In 2021 the
company was selected for an Arch Grant. “Arch Grants did wonders for our company,” says Schlafly.
“We went from having a $0 marketing budget to finally being able to hire a marketer and advertise. Now
our Amazon is hopping, we have distribution established in Vietnam, and we have 20 meetings booked
with retailers in April.”

What would the company do with another $50k? “Inventory and fulfillment,” says Schlafly. “We’ve
gained so much interest from our sales and marketing, now we need to spend money upfront to deliver
clean protein to the world.”

Mighty Cricket joins St. Louis-based alternative protein companies Hungry Planet and Planetarians in
leading the sustainable protein movement, turning America’s Heartland into a food innovation hub. A
study from The University of Sheffield’s Grantham Centre for Sustainable Futures reports that the earth
has lost one third of its farmable land in the past 40 years. As the planet’s natural resources shrink,
consumer demand for sustainable proteins is rapidly rising. Mighty Cricket is betting on that trend
continuing, positioning itself to meet the demand.

Mighty Cricket is a sustainable protein company offering high protein meals, supplements, and snacks.
Made with organic ingredients, the company’s High Protein Oatmeals and Clean Protein Powders are
free of gluten, dairy, soy, egg, peanut, artificial ingredients, preservatives, antibiotics, and growth
hormones. Get them at MightyCricket.com.
