CROVER, the multi-award-winning grain-swimmer, has added the Hello Tomorrow Food & Agriculture and the Wevolver 3D Printing Challenge awards to its achievements
Online PR News – 11-December-2021 – Edinburgh – Edinburgh-based startup Crover is no stranger to breaking records and winning high-profile awards, having already been recognised with 18 awards since its foundation in 2018, and the latest additions to its trophy cabinet are yet another first for Scotland: the team at Crover has in fact been recognised, within the span of less than a week with the Food and Agriculture track award at the Hello Tomorrow global summit, the world’s leading deep-tech stage, as well as winning the top prize from the Wevolver / Mitsubishi Chemical Advanced Materials’ High-Temperature Carbon-Fiber 3D Printing Global Challenge.
These awards are a recognition of the Crover team having been able to develop, thanks to its patented technology for locomotion in granular materials, the world’s first robotic device able to "swim" in bulk solids and powders - environments like sand dunes, heaps of grain and bulk powders.
Starting from the discovery of what they call the ‘CROVER effect’, over the last years the Crover team has been focused on using its technology to build a grain storage management system, to help grain storage operators such as grain merchants and port operators maintain the quality of their stock.
The two awards will provide key support to Crover at a crucial stage for its growth, including $25,000 in manufacturing support from the Mitsubishi Chemical Advanced Materials team, which will be working alongside Crover’s engineers to ensure the best quality of the final CROVER product while using novel high-performance materials and processes.
Dr Lorenzo Conti, Crover's Founder, said: "We are incredibly thankful to judges, tech enthusiasts and experts who supported Crover's mission of enabling humanity to reach below the surface. Now that the underground barrier is broken we look forward to taking the CROVER to further successful journeys with them all!"
