Messhall Kitchen Sold to Longtime Partner Anthony Ko

The Los Feliz Neighborhood Favorite is Poised for Expansion as it Enters its Tenth Year

Online PR News – 24-November-2021 – Los Angeles, CA – Founder Jon Chait of LT Acquisition Corp has entered into an agreement to sell Messhall Kitchen, the nine year old Los Feliz staple known for freshly shucked oysters, barbecue platters, biscuits and a robust whiskey program, to a newly organized company controlled by longtime employee Anthony Ko. Ko was part of Messhall’s 2012 opening team where he started as an Assistant General Manager before departing in 2017 to open the acclaimed Rappahannock Oyster Bar. Ko returned to Messhall in 2019 as Managing Partner and has dutifully guided the restaurant through the pandemic, emerging stronger than ever with a dedicated clientele of locals and cross-town fans alike.

Ko looks forward to shepherding Messhall into its tenth year stating, “It’s been an honor to serve the Los Feliz neighborhood and visitors from all over Southern California, whether they’re coming in for brunch or stopping by before a performance at The Greek.” Adding, “I’m proud to officially take over the reins of this dynamic restaurant as we continue to serve our community, and look to expand into new neighborhoods in the future.”

Messhall will continue to serve its signature menu of American and BBQ favorites, robust oyster program, and crowd-pleasing brunch, by Executive Chef Charbel Adaimy who has been with the restaurant since 2015. Bar Director Amanda Arebalo and her innovative menus like the new Thirst for Wanderlust program will also remain intact to serve parched patrons and cocktail enthusiasts. The transfer of ownership is expected to close by the end of December. Terms of the transaction were not announced.
