11/11/2021

Family caregivers turned advocates share decade long journey with Alzheimer's Disease in a new CBD book and workshops to help other caregivers and seniors.

Online PR News – 11-November-2021 – Los Angeles, CA – After more than a decade of experience as family caregivers and advocates for people living with dementia, including their access to medicinal cannabis, Chela and Dave Coennen, co-hosts of the Cannabis Helps Dementia podcast, will offer their guidance to other caregivers and seniors, with the launch of a new book and free monthly Zoom workshops starting Saturday, November 20th at AlzNotes.com.

In their new book, AlzNotes: CBD For Seniors, 12 Essential Things to Know When Trying CBD and Medicinal Cannabis to Help Seniors and People Living with Dementia the family caregivers break through the hype to give readers a brief primer on what seniors and their loved ones absolutely need to know to get started using medicinal cannabis or CBD today, nearly anywhere in the US & Canada. The ebook and print versions of AlzNotes: CBD For Seniors will be available for pre-sale at AlzNotes.com or on Amazon.com for release on Saturday, November 20th.

To honor National Family Caregivers Month as well as Alzheimer’s Awareness Month, Saturday, November 20th, Chela and Dave will give a free community presentation via Zoom on How and Why Cannabis Helped Ease Our Family Journey Through Mom’s Alzheimer’s Disease. Listeners will hear the couple’s story while learning from many of the guests they’ve interviewed for Cannabis Helps Dementia podcast, featuring prominent doctors and other clinicians, as well as caregivers and people living with dementia, about how cannabis helps. Registration for the free event is through EventBrite.

In addition to the book, on the third Sunday of the month, launching November 21st is AlzNotes: Working Group. It’s goal is to create a space where care partners can celebrate their successes and wins in caring for loved ones living with dementia, and themselves. Chela describes the group as “A place to share what’s working in dementia care. We’ll swap recipes and talk about what foods are helping you and your loved one feel and do better, right now. We’ll discuss research and share about what's changing real world outcomes. We’ll talk about how we, as care partners, are using CBD, cannabis therapeutics and other natural medicinals and supplements. We’ll connect each other with knowledgeable healthcare professionals, important new research, and what’s working with our loved ones. We’ll discover fun activities, and ways of connecting while learning to get comfortable with change, death and the natural dying process.” Registration for the free monthly group is through EventBrite.
