Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal announced the postponed April & May sessions of the JEE will conducted in the month of July & August .
Online PR News – 07-July-2021 – Kota, Rajasthan – NEW DELHI: Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ announced on 6th July 2021 that the postponed April and May sessions of the Joint Entrance Examination will be conducted in the month of July and August. The third session will commence from July 20 to July 25 and the fourth session will be conducted between July 27 to August 2, 2021. In case, the students weren’t able to register themselves earlier can now apply now, NTA has started the application from July 6 till the night of July 8. Students willing to register for the fourth session can register from July 9 to July 12.
The students are given the opportunity to change their examination center choice, during the registration process. The minister said, "To change exam center according to your desire or convenience, you have to inform us within these three days. We will try to give you the center of your choice".
The NTA decided to postpone the April and May attempts of the JEE mains exam, due to the rise in the number of Covid cases.
Previously the JEE mains April session was to b held on April 27, 28, 29, and 30. And for the May session, the students were given the dates: May 24, 25, 26, 27, and 28, 2021.
The first two sessions were successful conducted in the month of February and March.
In the first session, nearly 6 lakh (6,20,978) students appeared for the exam, and approximately 5 lakh (5,56,248) students appeared in the second session.
The NTA took the decision to conduct the JEE mains 4 times this year so that the students can prepare in a better way amid the pandemic.
Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal said, "Students will now get multiple chances to improve their performance at the JEE exam. So if a student did not perform well in one attempt, he/she can attempt it three more times in a year".
The JEE mains exam is conducted by the national testing agency to give capable students admission in the undergraduate engineering courses in India including the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and National Institute of Technology (NIT).
