“'Sinatra Swag' was inspired by the desire to feel and explore a little bit of that old school magic, persona and sound that I feel has been missing in our culture,” admits Pip. “This song infuses an old classic sound with a modern pop feel — plus it was pretty easy to write about Frank Sinatra as an Italian American musician who is from the shadows of New York City like myself.”
At 25, Pip channels Ol’ Blue Eyes, adding a Gen Z twist with this summertime anthem. “This record is a great kickstart in the rollout of what’s to come throughout the summer,” adds Pip about the celebratory sound penned by Pip and Dr. Dre’s collaborator & former Death Row artist Sam Sneed, along with a team of songwriters and producers including 2AM, Gramz, & EMME.
KEEP UP WITH PIP
This former Division I baseball player’s injuries and mental health derailed his dream of playing pro, but they became the catalyst for finding light in the darkness. Westchester NY-bred, self-taught singer/songwriter Thomas Pipolo (Pip), managed his anxiety by picking up a guitar and dusting off a piano for the first time at age 18. Now 7 years later, Pip has attracted loyal fans on TikTok (77k+ followers) and listeners on Spotify (175k+ streams) with his smooth vocals, acoustic guitar and signature baseball cap. Influenced by the likes of Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber, Pip adds a timeless flare to his genre-less songs that transcend generational tastes. Currently working with Dr. Dre’s producing partner, Sam Sneed, Pip’s sweet sound and authentic lyrics are on the verge of tapping into a vast audience and resonating with many who have struggled with their dreams and reimagining their identity.
