10z Team Soccer Offers Summer Soccer Camp Scholarship

10z Team Soccer will be giving away two scholarships (Boy and Girl), for summer soccer camp, to children of migrant families living in NYC and/or Long Island.

Online PR News – 07-May-2021 – Queens, NY – The 10z Team, a non-profit organization that works with underserved youth organizations in the community to provide soccer training and mentoring, announced the establishment of the 10z Summer Soccer Camp Scholarship Fund.

In the inaugural year of the fund, the Team announced that it will send two youth soccer players to a summer camp of their choice. The fund is to provide financial assistance for children who live in underrepresented communities within New York.

“One of our initiatives this year is to fundraise enough money, so that we can work to put one of these youths into a camp during this summer with the help of our scholarship program,” stated Arun Sathyanathan, one of the founders at 10z Team.

“As former soccer players, we understand the importance of ensuring kids stay active and involved in the sport especially during the summer months with their club seasons at an end. We are also wary of the financial issues that are front and center in our country, and now this is an even bigger challenge now to ensure it doesn’t fall on kids’ futures,” added founder Andrew Almeida.

The Team began its work by training young children at the Cayuga Centers, a non-profit organization dedicated to ensuring children have a safe, loving home. Along with Cayuga, 10z is currently working with CIANA – a non-profit that families and youth incorporate the best of both worlds while still maintaining cultural ties and pride in their heritage.

“10z team coaches have done a great job with our middle school students. Their approach online and in person combine fitness and leadership learning through soccer,” stated Director of Education Programs Sophie Riina. “They were incredible supportive of our immigrant students/families during a difficult
time!”
