Soccer Shots SWFL connects local companies with Child Care of SWFL to bring character development and soccer to children whose parents cannot afford the program

Online PR News – 29-March-2021 – Southwest FL – Children attending P.A. Geraci Child Development Center, Joseph H. Messina Children's Center, and The Children's Learning Center are learning soccer skills and character development through the ongoing partnership between Child Care of SWFL and Soccer Shots Southwest Florida. These two organizations have joined forces to connect with local businesses in order to make a positive impact on children through the Soccer Shots experience.

For 10 weeks, over 100 students ages 3-5 years old are learning soccer skills and character words each week from the Soccer Shots coaches. The Soccer Shots curriculum provides activities that align with the Florida Early Learning Standards through physical development, social and emotional development, language and communication, and cognitive development and general knowledge. Local organizations are working together and it is making a significant impact in the Southwest Florida community.

For the Winter Season, Deangelis Diamond Construction and Northwestern Mutual South Florida Group have joined Shoreline Lumber, Lipman Family Produce and Delisi Fitzgerald as the latest companies to support the Soccer Shots Corporate Scholarship Program. The generous grants from these companies allow these children to experience the Soccer Shots program at each learning center as an after school program.

Soccer Shots Southwest Florida launched in July 2019, offering soccer and character development programs for children ages 2 to 8. Its programs are offered locally in child care centers and schools during the day, and at local parks on nights and weekends. Soccer Shots also provides neighborhood and backyard programs.

“Our team has a passion for coaching, and through soccer, we’re able to make a positive impact on children’s lives,” said Co-founder Mike Gannon. “Hopefully, more local companies will come together so we are able to provide ongoing programs for these children and make a long term impact in our community as we build stronger youth beyond the game."
