The family law firm shares helpful information for navigating a divorce
Online PR News – 29-March-2021 – Phoenix, AZ – One of the top family law firms in Phoenix has shared helpful information for people in Arizona going through a divorce and how they can navigate the often difficult process.
Diana Rader of Rader Law Firm has been fighting for her clients throughout their divorce proceedings and other family law cases for more than 20 years. Recently, Rader covered four of the most common questions and answers her clients have about filing for divorce in Arizona
First, Rader answered, “How do I file for divorce in Arizona?”
“To start the process, one spouse must file what’s known as a Petition for Dissolution of Marriage with the clerk of the Superior Court. They must also pay the requisite filing fee.
Then, the other spouse will be served with a copy of the petition, along with a summons. If the spouse lives in Arizona, they have 20 days to file a written response. For out-of-state parties, they have 30 days.”
Next, Rader answered, “How long do I need to live in Arizona before I can file for divorce here?”
“Before filing for divorce in Arizona, one of the parties must have lived in the state for at least 90 days.”
“Can I get free marriage counseling in Arizona?” was covered next:
“If you’re not quite ready to file for divorce or you’re determined to try again, there are also options for getting marriage counseling at no cost in this state through the Family Court’s Conciliation Services. This support is available whether a divorce, legal separation, or annulment action has already been filed with the court or not.”
Finally, Rader discussed how to find a family law attorney in Arizona.
“It’s incredibly important to choose an experienced family law firm with your best interests in mind when you file for divorce in Arizona. Rader Law Firm proudly serves clients in Phoenix, Scottsdale, and all of Maricopa County, and has done so for over two decades.”
