Online PR News – 24-March-2021 – Tyler, Texas – Virtual Reality Education Sandbox brings in School Leaders from All Over the Nation in a Virtual World

All Saints Episcopal School in Tyler, Texas has hosted an in-person “Education Sandbox” the past three years, which is a gathering of school leaders from across the nation to talk about bold ideas, innovation and collaboration in education. “It started because as we attended conferences we often reflected that some of the deepest ponderings came from unscripted conversations with other educators passionate about the future of education,” says All Saints Episcopal School Head of School, Mike Cobb. “In 2018, I invited a group of 12 educators to come gather at All Saints with no-agenda--just dedicated time to think, talk, collaborate, ideate and share ideas about what’s working in education.”

The ASES Sandbox has now hosted dozens of global leaders in education. Grant Lichtman is an author and speaker in the education space. His thoughts on the 2020 Sandbox, “What a treat it is to spend time with other thoughtful educators with an agenda that allows for both breadth and depth about some of the key issues we are all facing. This is a rare experience indeed, usually reserved for chief executives and at a high cost. I’m so glad All Saints showed true leadership in gathering good minds together to see what they share and create!”
COVID-19 threw a wrench in the plans for an in-person ASES Sandbox, but the team at All Saints came up with a brilliant and innovative solution.
This Thursday and Friday, March 25 and 26, school leaders from across the nation will login to a Virtual Reality world--each with a custom avatar--and interact and learn together. The ASES Virtual Sandbox 3.0 will be the first of it’s kind bringing together educational leaders from across the country in the Engage platform.

It’s the ultimate in safety when it comes to coronavirus precautions, but it’s amazing because participants will use some of the tools talked about in previous Sandboxes to execute this one: in Virtual Reality.
Each attendee has been mailed a survival kit that includes an Oculus Quest 2 VR Headset for the conference. They will spend time in full-group sessions and smaller breakout groups to discuss deeper topics.
“This is truly a one-of-a-kind event,” says Mr. Cobb, “I believe this is the first Virtual Reality conference in the education space. I am so excited about this experience.”
The Sandbox will take place virtually on Thursday and Friday, March 25 and 26.
