Soccer Shots SWFL connects Shoreline Lumber with Harlem Heights Community Charter School to bring premier soccer program and character development to children

Online PR News – 12-February-2021 – Fort Myers, FL – Children attending Harlem Heights Community Charter School will be learning fundamentals of soccer and character development through a new partnership with Soccer Shots Southwest Florida and Shoreline Lumber.

For 10 weeks, 30 students ages 3 to 5 years old will learn about soccer, fitness and sportsmanship through the unique partnership. Harlem Heights Community Charter is the latest school to benefit from Soccer Shots’ new Corporate Scholarship Program, which provides grants to organizations that serve families in disadvantaged communities. A generous grant from Shoreline Lumber allows these children to experience the Soccer Shots program every Friday afternoon on campus as an after school program.

“The Harlem Heights Community Charter School’s organization and educational program is based on the beliefs that all students can learn and all students deserve a chance to become all they can be and the Soccer Shots program aligns with this,” said Debra Mathinos, Director of The Harlem Heights Community Charter School. “We believe students learn at different rates and should have a variety of instructional options that meet their individual needs and learning pace.”

As a nonprofit, Harlem Heights Community Charter School creates a small school community with focused and developmentally appropriate direct instruction in which all students are valued, accepted for who they are, supported in the development of core academic skills and encouraged to challenge their learning toward excellence.

Shoreline Lumber is a full-service lumber facility based in Southwest Florida. The company is the leading supplier of marine lumber materials in Southwest Florida. They proudly serve Lee and Charlotte County, FL, and the nearby cities and they always look for ways to support the community.

"It's important for children to be able to get outside and exercise. We believe in the structure and character development children receive from the Soccer Shots program." said Ron Paluck, President of Shoreline Lumber. "This is a great way for us to give back to our community."

Soccer Shots Southwest Florida launched in July 2019, offering soccer and character development programs for children ages 2 to 8. Its programs are offered locally in child care centers and schools during the day, and at local parks on nights and weekends.

“We are always looking for ways to make a positive impact on children’s lives in Southwest Florida,” said Co-founder Mike Gannon. “It is exciting to see local businesses working together with local schools to provide our program for the children in this community. We believe in getting local leaders to work together to build future leaders for our community."
