w/you Partners with Body Politic to Show Love for Covid-19 Long Covid Patients
Online PR News – 05-February-2021 – Mountain View, California – 2021 is about empathy, which is why a new startup, w/you, is partnering with Body Politic, an organization dedicated to Covid-19 Long Covid patients, to redefine this season of love. Everyday people are drawing attention to the validity of what Long Covid patients continue to face by purchasing a pair of sweatpants that say “w/you.” A portion of the sales will go to Body Politic’s Support Group and patient-led research team throughout the month of February.
And the love doesn’t stop there. Supporters can also “wear a pair, give a pair” by paying for a second pair of w/you sweatpants to be sent to a Long Covid patient, further empathizing with those who continue to suffer with ongoing symptoms and may be in need of new clothing.
“My heart is with you. Your emotional and physical pain is valid,” related Covid-19 supporter Caitlin Ner. Another supporter, Talbert Toole, said, "As a future nursing student and a member of the LGBTQI community, I am participating to a be a voice among those who are suffering from the long term effects of COVID, especially those disenfranchised by the healthcare system."
The red, unisex sweatpants are plain with the exception of a large “w/you” printed on the left leg, reinforcing an overwhelmingly clear message. "How people show love is different this year. We can all agree that Long Covid patients are in need of extra love and we’re proving to them that their ongoing suffering is taken seriously,” said w/you Founder, Annie Miller.
"For too long, Long COVID patients have suffered alone, without the support of institutions, clinicians, or peers. Sometimes, all it takes is knowing one person cares,” said Body Politic Founder, Fiona Lowenstein.
w/you is a new startup that provides the often-overlooked basic need of clothing when health changes. w/you’s patent-pending technology in development takes care of the search within brands for all side effects and symptoms with or without a formal diagnosis. In the spirit of strengthening the existing community, users' friends are not only eager to pay for the chosen items but want to wear them in solidarity as well.
