Two global assessment services providers partner to provide first multiple-choice certification for open-source leader.
Online PR News – 13-January-2021 – Glendale, CA – PSI Services LLC (PSI), global provider of certification program services and Certiverse, a new virtual test development start-up, have combined their innovative technology and secure exam delivery options to launch a first-of-its-kind exam, the Linux Foundation Certified IT Associate (LFCA).
The Linux Foundation’s new pre-professional, multiple-choice certification gives emerging IT talent an opportunity to demonstrate their industry knowledge and capabilities. PSI, a longtime leader in designing and developing state-of-the-art online proctoring platforms, seamlessly integrated their latest technology with the Certiverse’s exam test delivery platform to authenticate, proctor and protect exam content during testing. Through customizable test security functions, candidate identity authentication, lock-down browser capabilities, and reporting and analytics, PSI’s online proctoring platform supports every phase of the assessment process and allows candidates to take the LFCA in their own home in a fair and secure manner.
“PSI has a deep history of innovative partnership with The Linux Foundation, and we’re delighted that with the groundbreaking launch of the LFCA our leading-edge online proctoring technology will help propel a new generation of future IT leaders into the world in a meaningful way,” Rory McCorkle, PhD, SVP, Certification & Admissions at PSI.
The LFCA was developed using Certiverse’s advanced technology, enabling the test to move from concept to delivery in a quarter of the traditional time. Speed to market is especially critical for IT certifications because of the constant evolution of technology. After the accelerated test development process, Certiverse and PSI were able to integrate their systems, so there was no additional time required for publishing. This partnership also means that future exams can be quickly launched in PSI delivery channels, giving learners faster access to certifications.
“We’re making history with this exam, and it’s been vital to work with partners who understand and share our goals,” said Certiverse CEO and co-founder Ruben Arturo Garcia.
The LFCA is the first exam to use royalty-based revenue sharing with an expert community of test content creators who participated in a fully virtual, crowd-sourced item writing process. Certiverse’s ease of use for subject matter experts and its cost-effectiveness for The Linux Foundation facilitated the creation of a higher volume of items, making it easier to create multiple forms to be delivered via online proctoring.
Registration for the LFCA is currently available. Testing begins in January.
