The Global Innovation Award ceremony confirmed to take place during ADSW

The Global Innovation Award (GIA) organized by the UAE Ministry of Climate Change & Environment and Globally, sponsored by DP World and Bee'ah

Online PR News – 16-December-2020 – Dubai, United Arab Emirates – The announcement of the winner of the third edition of the Global Innovation Award is confirmed to take place during the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week hosted by Masdar, to be held in January 2021. For the first time, due to the current global circumstances, this will be a fully virtual event.

The Global Innovation Award (GIA) is a collaborative initiative of the UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE) and the online sustainable video platform GloballyGreat. This Award aims to find outstanding innovations from around the world that have the potential to contribute to the UAE's sustainability vision. It is a great opportunity for innovative companies to enter or grow in the Middle East market, as the winners will be supported by the government and award partners to become successful in the UAE and beyond. The overall Global Innovation Award will be handed out by the Ministry and 2 category Awards will be handed out by the Award sponsors: “Responsible Consumption and Production (SDG 12)” by Bee’ah and “Life Below Water (SDG 14)” by DP World.

This year the GIA is sponsored by DP World, the global ports operator. DP world will be part of the jury and hand out the Category Award for SDG 14 Life Below Water. The GIA is also sponsored by Bee’ah, UAE’s leading waste management company. Bee’ah will be part of the jury and hand out the Category Award for SDG 12 Responsible Consumption & Production. Last year’s Global Innovation Award saw 2 winners that have both grown tremendously since then. Neutral Fuels LLC is a UAE company which transforms waste cooking oil into clean, sustainable Net Zero Biofuel. Since winning the award last year, Neutral Fuels has booked some major successes and closed deals with major public and private organizations. Last year’s global winner was Heliatek from Germany, a technology leader producing organic photovoltaics (OPV) for virtually any building surface. Since winning the award last year, Heliatek has realized a major pilot project in Dubai and is working on several other projects.
