Women in Standards Announces Chantal Guay, ing. P.Eng. FCAE, CEO, SCC as Keynote for the 2021 Annual Dinner
Online PR News – 11-November-2020 – Washington, DC – The Women in Standards is proud to announce that the 2021 Virtual Annual “Dinner” will include Chantal Guay, ing. P.Eng. FCAE, Chief Executive Officer of the Standards Council of Canada as Keynote speaker. The keynote will have a unique focus on the critically important topic of “Diversity in Standards and Why the future belongs to standardization” and attendees are encouraged to reserve their seats early to ensure they don’t miss this important event.
“Standards are a force for good in societies. They support economic growth, facilitate trade, and play a role in protecting health and safety,” said Chantal Guay, CEO of SCC. “With that in mind, we have evidence that the benefits of standards are not gender neutral, that standards are not doing enough to protect women. By taking action to ensure that standards are gender responsive and inclusive, we can magnify the positive impact of standards on society as a whole. I am incredibly inspired by the work the Women in Standards group is doing to improve gender equality and I look forward to this very timely discussion.”
Chantal Guay was appointed as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Standards Council of Canada (SCC) in April 2018, where she oversees the promotion of standards and accreditation in Canada and abroad. Chantal brings a strong understanding of the importance and value of standardization, quality, and systems management in the private and public sectors.
The 2021 Virtual Annual “Dinner” will be held January 21, 2021 at 5pm EST and will include community updates and opportunities to meet and network with industry and standardization community contacts. Since 2004, the Women in Standards have hosted the annual dinner and each year is a new opportunity to catch up, share ideas and stories, and get excited about the year ahead.
